Obituary- Erhard Ed Van Bargen

Ed Erhard Van Bargen

VAN BARGEN, Erhard 'Ed' Edward

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at St. Joseph's Hospice, Ed Van Bargen of London, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Christiane Van Bargen for 62 years. Loving father of Michele Van Bargen and Chris (Deanna) Van Bargen. Cherished by his sister, Anneliese Stockmann; niece, Cornelia Stockman; half-sister, Barbara Vick; and half-brother, Wolfgang Van Bargen. Adored grandfather of Jordan, Mackenze and Colby. Predeceased by his mother, Anna Van Bargen and father, Arthur Van Bargen.

Unfortunately, Ed was diagnosed with Mesothelioma (cancer from asbestos) this past February; a sad reality of his profession for many years. He was a very giving man who taught us as much with his actions as his silence and he will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the nurses, PSW's, volunteers and the doctor at St. Joseph's Hospice for their compassionate care and for the comfort given to Ed. They allowed him to spend his final days with dignity and grace. They demonstrated the same comfort and care towards the family and we will be forever grateful.

A private family gathering will be held; however, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date once restrictions have eased. Detailed updates will be available in the near future at http://VanBargen.com and this newspaper. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ed are asked to consider St. Joseph's Hospice of London at https://www.sjhospicelondon.com/donate-now.
